"A Few of Leslie's Favorite Things" Auction-The Rules and Posts

This auction is now CLOSED. Thank you to all who participated!

As we have been hinting around all month long, it is time for the "A Few of Leslie's Favorite Things" blog auction!  I am super excited about this one since it encompasses literally a few of my favorite things.  So enough of the chit-chat.  Let's get this auction started.

The Rules
This blog auction will last for exactly one week starting Saturday, January 18th and ending on Saturday, January 25th at 9PM.  There isn't much time to bid on your favorite item(s) so make sure that you don't let your first bid be your lowest bid, just in case time does run out.  Also, make sure that you post your final bids exactly on or before the deadline of 9PM CST.  Comments made even one second or longer after the deadline will not be considered.

Each item has its own post in order to make bidding easy.  I have started the bidding of each item at 30% of the retail price.  No bids will be considered if posted on this post.  Make sure you post your bid on the item's post in order to be considered.  Links to each post are listed below.

Make sure when leaving your bid price that you leave an email address as well.  If you win the item, this will be the way that I contact you to work out the details of receiving your item, payment, etc.  Make sure that your payment is mailed promptly so the details can be worked out with each of the supporters in receiving your item.  Once the item is awarded to the highest bidder, the supporter will mail the item directly to you, hence the reason for leaving your email address with your bid in order to work out the details.

The Supporters and the Items
Each of the supporters has graciously donated their item(s) for this blog auction.  I emailed each of them and they jumped on the opportunity to help.  They love the Lord, and I hope you can see that through their beautiful pieces of art.

Let's get this auction started!

True Love Ring by Amy Cornwell Designs (Auction)

This auction is now CLOSED. Thank you to all who participated!

I first found out about Amy Cornwell Designs jewelry through a high school friend and fell in love with Amy's jewelry.  Each piece of jewelry is handmade with love and devotion.  I actually own 2 pieces of her jewelry and would love to own her True Love Ring, which is up for grabs today.

True Love Ring by Amy Cornwell Designs

As described on the Amy Cornwell Designs shop:
This wonderful ring starts with twisted sterling wire that is paired with a sweet domed heart that is stamped with you and your love's initials. A beautiful reminder of the true love in your life!

You can have initials separated by an ampersand (shown), three initials or simply leave the heart blank. The letters are lowercase typewriter font (the lowercase "L" can look like a 1). There are multiple options, so please see the pictures for descriptions! The lowercase fancy font includes letters and numbers.

Important details about this ring:
1. Eventually the darkening of the letters will most likely wear off due to the doming of the heart and washing of hands. It can be left natural for a subtle look, or redarkened for a $2.50 shipping fee. I also offer DIY instructions for redarkening (with a polishing square included) as an option for a small fee.
2. These bands are thin, so it can feel like it runs large. If you're between sizes please choose the smaller size.

Check out the Amy Cornwell website, Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter pages for more information concerning her shop.

This hand-stamped ring retails for $27.50.  The bidding begins at $8.25.

"Sweet Home Alabama" by Mandipidy (Auction)

This auction is now CLOSED. Thank you to all who participated!

If you love artwork and quotes, then you will love Mandipidy's quotable art.  Mandy, as she is known outside of her creative world, creates each drawing with her own beautiful style.  Mom introduced Sissy and me to her work by giving us the Sweet Home Alabama picture to hang in our home.  And I love it!  Since then, we have purchased another print which hangs wonderfully in our home.  Don't you just love this deer print referencing one of my favorite Bible verses?

The Sweet Home Alabama print is an 8x10 picture is one of Mandy's original artwork.  It comes unframed on 8.5"x11" recycled white linen paper for high quality and a long-lasting product.

This auction is now CLOSED. Thank you to all who participated!

If you love artwork and quotes, then you will love Mandipidy's quotable art.  Mandy, as she is known outside of her creative world, creates each drawing with her own beautiful style.  Mom introduced Sissy and me to her work by giving us the Sweet Home Alabama picture to hang in our home (also a part of the auction).  And I love it!  Since, we have purchased another print which hangs wonderfully in our home.  Don't you just love this deer print referencing one of my favorite Bible verses?

Since our adoption theme is "Anchored in Faith", the "We Have this Hope-Hebrews 6:19" picture goes along great with our theme.  This 8x10 picture is one of Mandy's original artwork.  It comes unframed on 8.5"x11" recycled white linen paper for high quality and a long-lasting product.

Girl Matching Butterfly Bibdana and Bow Set by Lux Mundi Shop (Auction)

This auction is now CLOSED. Thank you to all who participated!

The creator of this adorable bibdana and bow set is someone who I have known since middle school.  Corrie is truly a treasure and has a heart of gold.  Her Lux Mundi Shop is adorable!  Not only does she make bibdanas and bows, she also makes wreaths.

How adorable is this matching butterfly bibdana and bow set?  The matching bow is an alligator clip, making it easy to place in your little girl's hair.  The fabric is simple and yet stunning, making a bold statement.  This set would spice up any little girl's everyday attire.  And isn't that what we are all about as girls?  bold accessories that make a statement

How adorable is this bibdana?  Even though Corrie has designed this bib for a little boy, it can also be for a little girl.  I love the different patterns and the simplicity of the colors.  This bibdana is pieced from 4 different fabrics.

sick as a dog

Why is the phrase "sick as a dog"?  Since when did dogs become related to the word "sick"?  Have you ever seen a dog miserably sick?  Why not a cat, bird, cow, or skunk?  At any rate, that is what we are here at the Todd's.  We are "sick as dogs".  I'll spare you the details, but let's just say it's not pretty for either of us.

Satan has upped his game and has focused his next move on what gets me every time:  our immune systems.  I am thankful to say that I married a man whose immune system is freakishly strong compared to my own.  However,  during that rare instance when we are both down for the count, we find it hard to draw strength from each other's health.

There are 3 things Satan knows we personally struggle with:  communication problems (which we asked for prayer from you to overcome and we are on the path of success), money issues (with your support we are on our way to bring home the Littlest Todd with ease so THANK YOU!), and immune system weaknesses.

We need you, family and friends, to start praying specifically for our immune systems.  This might sound silly, but Satan will do anything to distract us from our adoption journey.  Without being in good health, we can't go to our jobs and complete the adoption paperwork.  We ask that you pray for each of our immune systems to fight off our current sicknesses and build a strong fortress to protect against future illnesses.  It is important that we remain as healthy as we can, especially during our visit to China.

We will never stop thanking YOU for all of the continued prayers, love, support, and kind words that you have shown us over the past month.  God has placed you in our lives for a reason to be an encouragement to us through this journey.  For that, we could never repay you.

Bed Sheets Fundraiser

You've heard it here first and secondly on our UStream video from New Year's Day. We are selling bed sheets!

Bed sheets? You may ask. Yes, bed sheets. We found out about this fundraiser through a friend who is going through an adoption as well. She and her husband were able to raise a good bit of their money through this fundraiser alone. I mean who doesn't need bed sheets? And at $40 a set for any size, everyone in the family needs a new set! I mean, there is always the option of buying Christmas, birthday, Mother's Day, Easter, Father's Day, High School/College Graduation, Going to College, and just because gifts. Add a monogram to the sheets and viola! Instant gift for a low price.

These 1500-thread count sets come in 12 different colors and in 5 different sizes. Each set comes with a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and 2 pillowcases (only 1 pillowcase in the twin set).

There is no time limit for this particular fundraiser.  As long as we have interest, then we will keep ordering. We are required to place 12 set orders with the company so as soon as we receive orders for at least 12 sets, we will submit an order. Once submitted, the sheets take about 3 days to arrive at our house. From there, we will make plans to meet to give you your set(s). Let us know through Facebook, email, text, phone calls, etc if you are interested in buying a set or two.

Let us know if you have any questions about this fundraiser.  As always, thank you for helping us fulfill God's calling to adopt the Littlest Todd!  We are still extremely excited about meeting the one God has made for our growing family.
